So here I am again, sorry I haven´t been posting a lot since Cape Town, i keep posting every day on my facebook fanpage www.facebook.com/paulanovotna.kiteboarding, check that out!
In the begginig of March I came home from Cape Town and stayed home some days to relax, see my family and friends. After some days at home I flew to Dakhla in the middle of March for the first stop of PKRA world tour.
The first stop went pretty well for me. It started with singles, I won my first heat against El Jouhavi and than I lost against the current world champion Karolina Winkowska. No doubt she was ripping, she was landing some powerful handelpasses, her score was pretty high in this heat, still have to train a lot to be able to beat her. Karolina has a really nice style, in the end she won the competition in Dakhla!
In the doubles I had lots of heats. First I went against local girl than against my team mate Clementine Bonzom afterwards Annabel van Westerop and Manuela de Jungo. All those heats went well for me and I was able to win all of them. I was really happy and had to go agaist Bruna Kajiya for the 3rd place. I was really tired already, but Bruna is really good rider and she won the heat with high score. Her riding is also really nice, she does tricks pretty high.
I ended up on the 4th place, I was really happy about the result, as it was my first world tour. I will train more during the year and I think I can see myself hopefully on the podium in few months.
The PKRA world tour also changed some rules, now there are 22 categories of tricks and we can just do 1 trick out of 1 category. We can do maximum 12 attemps but just 5 best tricks count.
And it´s also not just about how dificult tricks you do, but at the moment is more about the power, kite possition and execution of the trick, that´s what actually counts more.
Now I just arrived to Tarifa and I am gonna spend some days here. Need to focus on some training before the next stop in Leucate, France. I haven´t kited there, but I´ve heard the condititons are pretty hard, so we will see how I will go. Will do my best!
I would like to thanks my sponzors North kiteboarding, Snowboardel, 69 slam and my family for the support.
